Hi Hokies! Good news, the Southwest Virginia Chapter of the Virginia Tech Alumni Association is back in full swing! The chapter owes a great debt of gratitude to Lucas Hobbs for his tireless effort during the reorganization effort and bringing the chapter back to life. The Blood Drive and the Bud Robertson speech were great successes. The Chapter has elected a new slate of executive officers, whose contact information is posted under the Officers section.
We are looking forward to a successful term with an expanded slate of charity, fundraising, and social events. The chapter is currently in the process of planning a variety of events and welcome all Hokies in the Southwest Virginia area to become involved in the planning and attendance of those events. Our next meeting will be held on July 8, 2008 at the Southwest Virginia Higher Education Center on the campus of Virginia Highlands Community College in Abingdon, Virginia, and we invite all those who are interested to attend. Come renew friendships from your days at Tech, meet other Hokies, and help us plan evenings with speakers from Blacksburg and other fun events.
