Since our inception in 1929, Keith and Schnars has played a leading role in the development of Florida’s growing residential, commercial, recreational, and transportation infrastructure. Typical projects for the open environmental position include DRIs; environmental permitting support; Phase 1 and 2 environmental site assessments; wetland mitigation plans and monitoring; seagrass surveys; threatened and endangered species management; natural resource mapping and land management; and Everglades restoration projects. Responsibilities include preparing and reviewing technical documents, occasional field surveys, meeting with clients to define scope of services and negotiate contract pricing, coordinating with regulatory agencies, project management, and business development. Position is based in our corporate headquarters in Fort Lauderdale. Desired skills and qualifications include: B.S. (M.S. preferred) in a natural science (e.g., biology, geology, environmental science); 3 to 10 years relevant experience; excellent verbal and written communication skills; ArcView/GIS capabilities; experience with preparing environmental permit applications; experience with wetland and seagrass delineation and mitigation; experience with threatened and endangered species management; experience with NEPA (EA, EIS); familiarity with PD&E processes; familiarity with Florida ecosystems; and SCUBA certification. Salary is commensurate with level of relevant experience.
