September Football Games
Seattle Hokies,
One week from today, approximately 60,000 VT fans will be bouncing up and down to Enter Sandman at FedEx Field as we anticipate the start of Hokie football season against Boise State. If there’s any consolation for the end of summer, it would be the return of football season. Once again this year, we will have two football-watching locations in the Seattle area: People’s Pub in Ballard and Buckley’s in Belltown. We plan to send a monthly reminder this year with the game dates and times, as opposed to the weekly reminder. We will also post any updates to game times and weekly reminders throughout the month on our “VT Hokies in Seattle” Facebook group wall, Twitter account and website. Each game has a theme for the food item to be donated (see game schedule above), so bring the suggested item to receive a free raffle ticket. The prize for week 1 will be a Seattle Hokie t-shirt (see image below). Weekly raffle winners will be entered into an end of year grand-prize drawing for a Frank Beamer autographed VT football.
There is no limit on the number of raffle tickets that can be bought or acquired through donation of food items. All monetary proceeds from the raffle will go to the scholarship fund, and all donated food will go to Northwest Harvest, a Seattle-based hunger relief agency.
Note: We are looking for volunteers to collect the donated food and manage the raffle at People’s Pub, please send e-mail.
