    Join the Kanawha Valley Chapter for our Alumni and Student Picnic!
    Bring your family and fellow hokie fans for a great time! Well have food, games and fun - HOKIE-STYLE!!! They'll be playground facilities for the kids as well.

    So come out and see your fellow hokies and help support our new hokies too! We can't wait to see you!

    Directions to Coonskin Park: Take I-77/I-64 to the Greenbrier Street exit (Exit 99) in Charleston. Turn onto Greenbrier Street and proceed over the hill heading away from the city and the Capitol building (North Rt. 114). At the fork in the road at the bottom of the hill, bear to the right, towards Coonskin Park (the other road toward the left takes you to the airport). Turn left at the first stoplight (Go-mart is at this intersection) onto Coonskin Drive. Continue on Coonskin Drive into the Coonskin Park. Be careful, the speed limit is 25 miles an hour. Follow the signs to Shelter #19.

    Cheer on the WV Power in your Orange and Maroon! We have 50 free tickets for those who would like to attend.

Mission

The basic purposes of Kanawha Valley Chapter of the Virginia Tech Alumni Association are as follows:

  • To provide an important communications link between alumni and the university;
  • To promote the image and reputation of Virginia Tech within the community;
  • To promote strong positive relationships among alumni, students, parents and others within the community;
  • To support the activities of Virginia Tech and work toward the realization of the university's educational goals;
  • To provide the university with a strong core of alumni volunteers who serve as an important marketing arm of the university; and
  • To promote the alumni pride and spirit of Virginia Tech
