We encourage everyone to take an active part in our chapter and events.

New!

We have a great schedule of 2013 events for our Alumni, students and parents. Join fellow Hokies to see old friends and make new connections.

Events

Virginia Tech Rugby in the Collegiate Rugby Championships at PPL Park May31st - June 2nd 2013
Coach Andy Richards sent us the following information:
"We qualified this past fall by beating rivals UVA in the final of the Atlantic Coast Rugby Sevens at Virginia Beach. The CRC is in its fourth year and is broadcast live on NBC and NBC Sports Channel.

The team will be arriving in Philadelphia on Tuesday 28th May. We will be there all week before we play our first game on Friday 31st. We are hoping to bring a large following of friends, family and alumni to the event but we could really use some support from Delaware Hokies as well. We will be playing against some of the best collegiate teams in the country.

We would really appreciate your help in boosting our team ticket sales within your alumni association and by placing the event on your calendar of events. We have a specific link where Hokie fans, alumni, family & friends can purchase a 2-day ticket for $35 ($10 less than normal price).

Virginia Tech at the College Rugby Championships

While we are in Philadelphia we plan on holding an event on the Saturday evening in the Sheraton Hotel where the team will be staying. It is a great honor for us to be in the Collegiate Rugby Championship and to representing Virginia Tech in Philadelphia."

sodeDelaware Special Olympics – June 7th and 8th
Still time to volunteer! Go to www.Sode.org to volunteer

Once again the Hokies will join the DuPont team to run the track and field games. Our own Burnie Williams has become the well recognized voice announcing all the track and field events. The games are held all day Friday, June 7th and Saturday morning June 8th. We need volunteers both days. If you have never participated, it is very rewarding and a lot of fun. If you would like to participate, let Burnie (burnievt@yahoo.com) know (he keeps track of Hokies who volunteer so we are assigned together) and pre register by June 1st on the Special Olympics website at: www.SODE.org. Please indicate you are part of the DuPont group. Use the password "sgames"
