Central Florida Game Watching Parties!

GameWatching Parties
We had an excellent year for football, winning the 2008 ACC Championship and then going on to win the 2009 Orange Bowl in Miami, FL. Please continue to support the Hokies this year. Our recruiting class was great this year and Bud Foster is still around!

So, be prepared as we continue to meet for the games at JB's Bar & Grill near Universal and our new Location: TGIFriday’s Hunters Creek located just off 417 on Orange Blossom Trail (the good side) in the Target Shopping Center. They will offer half price appetizers, $2.00 Domestic Drafts, $10.00 Domestic Buckets, $7.00 Pitchers, $5.00 Wild Turkey Shots and more. Tip the bartender well (especially if she is wearing a Hokie Jersey).

If you would like to start your own game watching location, either on the coast or in a different location in Orlando, let us know so we can get you setup to support your local Chapter!

  What's a Hokie?
The answer leads all the way back to 1896 when Virginia Agricultural and Mechanical College changed its name to Virginia Polytechnic Institute. With the change came the necessity for writing a new cheer and a contest for such a purpose was held by the student body. Senior O.M. Stull won first prize for his "Hokie" yell which is still used today. Later, when asked if "Hokie" had any special meaning, Stull explained the word was solely the product of his imagination and was used only as an attention-getter for his yell. It soon became a nickname for all Tech teams and for those people loyal to Tech athletics.
